Wonderful for socialising throughout the year, in the summer time, open the doors and dine alfresco on the patio, in the peaceful tranquillity of the private garden.

And so to bed…

From the entrance hall, make your way up the stairs to the large, light landing where fitted wardrobes provide plenty of linen storage.

Turning left, discover a large guest bedroom, quietly sequestered away from the main flow of bedrooms. Views are inescapable at Townsend Farm, extending beyond the large garden to the fields beyond.

Continuing to the main stretch of landing, make your way down to the left, arriving at the second bedroom. The master bedroom , with shower room ensuite well-lit by a large Velux window, wake up to panoramic views to two sides. Plenty of storage can be found in the fitted wardrobes.

Retracing your steps, on the left, two windows provide views out over the side garden and mature beds from bedroom four, another room, ideal for a nursery or a single bedroom.

Sweet dreams

Refresh and revive in the impressive bathroom. Updated over recent years and tiled to the floor and walls in stone, this spacious, luxurious bathroom affords ample storage in the built-in wooden cabinetry, with twin wash basins, a WC, two heated towel radiator, bath and separate shower.

Seek sanctuary in the second bedroom, where light flourishes in through windows to three sides. Framing stunning views out over the garden and fields, watch for the flash of blue from the elusive kingfisher as he visits the pond in the farmer’s field beyond the hedge. A mile across the fields, discover local country inn The Bickerton Poacher, a traditional pub with an old fashioned wooden bowling alley.

Alongside the holly hedge discover a rarely used footpath that leads down, past the field in which Grand National winner Red Rum once grazed, to Cholmondley Castle the setting of King Charles III’s engagement to Princess Diana.

Families are well placed, with a fantastic local primary school in Bickerton, and easy access to several nearby secondary and independent schools including Bishop Heber, King's and Queen's in Chester.

The pretty village of Malpas, with its Gothic church is only three miles away, offering a selection of restaurants, shops and eateries, with a fish and chip shop around 10 minutes’ drive away and a Chinese takeaway 15 minutes’ drive in the other direction.
